My name is Rachel Cecil and I’m a part owner with United Fence & Construction. I manage the access control and marketing as well as anything else gets thrown in my lap. United Fence started in 1953 by my grandfather, Bill Briggs Sr. It started as a residential fence company. In the late 90’s, my father purchased the company from him and mainly turned it into a commercial fence company. My husband and I are starting to take over the business. We’re just going to continue doing commercial and industrial fencing and high-end residential iron and automatic gates.
My name is Josh Cecil and I’ve been with United Fence since August 1st, 2011. After marrying Rachel, I was able to use my construction background to be the VP of Operations so I could assist Billy with any estimating or any day-to-day operations that he may need me for. I feel like what makes United Fence special in the industry is what Bill Briggs Sr did when he started the company in 1953, which prided itself on quality materials, quality-end products, and doing what’s right for the customer. Bill Briggs Jr has continued that legacy and we plan to continue that as well. I feel like what United Fence does the best is high-profile, large commercial projects such as the Big Dam Bridge, Twin Rivers Bridge, and Dickey Stephens ball park.
We’ve also completed some other commercial projects such as FedEx, courthouses, and just some really high-security places. They’ve required V-mag gates, which are heavy duty high-security and we are one of the only ones in the state of Arkansas certified to install those. We have a fabrication shop that we have several welders that can actually build custom gates, especially for the high-end residential. I’ve seen our welder, Judith, build some beautiful gates that have custom lettering or scrolls – just unique designs.
Everyone in the company – from the field guys to the estimators to the office is very willing to do what it takes to get to the end result, which is completing a job with a happy customer.
For the future of our company, I am most excited about the technology coming into this industry. We want to be the innovators for that.
