Commercial Fencing FAQs
Do you provide quotes over the phone or will someone come to the property to give an estimate?
We can provide both! When we give an estimate over the phone it is a rough estimate because we aren’t taking every possible factor into consideration. If you’d prefer, we can also send someone to you to give you a better estimate. Please note that an in-person estimate is still an estimate and the cost of the actual fencing project may be more or less than that amount should anything unexpected arise.
Does putting a fence on the property increase its value?
In almost every case, adding a fence to your property does increase its value. Fencing increases security, provides privacy, and can lift the aesthetic appeal.
How much fencing will I need for my lot?
Obviously, the amount of fencing you need will vary wildly depending on the size and shape of your property. But, generally speaking, a good rule of thumb is that you will need about 835 feet of fencing per acre. This estimate is based on a square lot.
Can you keep the top of the fence level when you install it?
It’s important to understand that “level” and “straight” are two different things. We prefer to follow the contour of the ground, keeping the top as straight as possible. Generally, this is the most attractive approach. If you prefer that the fence be level–if you are trying to preserve a view, for example–we can step the panels so that the height is level across the top of the fence.
Do I need a fence permit?
Every municipality has its own building codes. You are responsible for ensuring that the fence you want complies with local building codes. Because we’ve been in business in the areas for so long, we are familiar with most municipality building codes and we will do our best to advise you when asked, but we cannot accept responsibility or liability for any fence no complying with local building codes.
Do I need to be present during the fence installation?
We do insist on an on-site meeting with the foreman before installation begins, but we do not require you to stay on-site for the entire installation–especially if it’s a big project. We do ask that you remain as easily available as possible during installation hours to answer any questions that may–and usually do–come up. Any delays while we wait on answers or for you to return our call will delay the project by at least that amount of time.
