Commercial Chain Link Fencing

Chain link is a woven material, which means that it can be climbed. However, we do offer a variety of diamond sizes–the smaller the diamond, the more difficult the fence will be to climb. Despite its ability to be scaled, chain link fencing is frequently used for perimeter security. Many security teams and specialists prefer chain link for the visibility it allows. Being able to see through your fencing makes it easier for guards and cameras to see intruders approaching the fence.     

For added security, you can add a razor wire or barbed wire fence topper to discourage climbing. Concrete footers deter digging underneath the fence, and thicker gauges of chain help prevent an intruder from cutting through the fence.

Chain link is versatile in its ability to allow visibility or provide privacy. All you have to do to make your chain link fence more private is to add a windscreen. Green or black windscreen covers create a nearly invisible barrier that blends into the surrounding environment. If you’re worried about noise reduction as well as privacy, you can also install composite noise panels on your chain link fence to help block noise from traffic or nearby businesses. 

You can also add to the privacy of your site by making your fence a little taller. However, you should always review your city’s code requirements before making a purchase. Different counties and property groups may have different height limits for non-security fencing.

Chain link fencing is generally very low maintenance. You can apply a rust protection spray annually to prevent your fence from oxidizing and rusting. However, if you choose a vinyl or polymer coated chain link, you are much less likely to have to worry about rust because the coating protects the metal underneath.  

To clean your chain link fence, you just have to spray it with water. Use mild soap on any bird droppings or other difficult to remove debris. 

It is best to keep weeds down around the base of your chain link fence and to avoid letting plants grow on it. Over time, climbing plants like roses, honeysuckle, and ivy can actually lift your fence out of the ground or burst through links and destroy them.
